AGM NVG-50 APW Dual-Tube Night Vision Goggle (Gen 2+ Autogated Photonis White)

9.600,00

The AGM NVG-50 APW is the flagship of AGM’s Gen 2+ dual-tube goggle line, combining everything that matters: true stereoscopic depth, auto-gating for dynamic light, and Advanced Performance Photonis white-phosphor tubes rated at FOM 1600-2000 and 64-72 lp/mm. It is the clearest, most capable NVG-50 build.

  • Dual-tube binocular with auto-gated Advanced Performance Photonis white-phosphor (P45) tubes
  • Photonis FOM 1600-2000, 64-72 lp/mm resolution, the cleanest in the Gen 2+ NVG-50 line
  • Auto-gating handles streetlights, headlights and dynamic light without bloom
  • True depth perception, wide 51-degree field of view, convertible to monocular
  • Built-in IR; up to 20 h on one AA or CR123A; fits standard PVS-7/14/15/18 and dovetail mounts

Available on backorder

The AGM NVG-50 APW is the top Gen 2+ build of AGM’s dual-tube night vision goggle. It brings together the three features that separate a premium NVG from a basic one: a dedicated tube per eye for true stereoscopic depth, auto-gating to control exposure under dynamic light, and Advanced Performance Photonis white-phosphor tubes at AGM’s highest Gen 2+ Figure of Merit band, 1600-2000, resolving 64-72 line pairs per millimeter. The result is a goggle that performs cleanly across the widest range of conditions in this class.

Design and build

The APW uses the NVG-50 platform: dual-channel multi-coated optics in a compact composite housing, 1x magnification, a wide 51-degree field of view, and focus from roughly 0.25 m to infinity. A built-in IR illuminator covers close work, one tube can be switched off for monocular use, and power is a single AA or CR123A for up to 20 hours with an optional battery pack for extended operation.

The pre-installed NVG interface shoe fits standard dovetail headset and helmet mounts and is compatible with AN/PVS-7D, PVS-14, PVS-7A/C, PVS-15, and PVS-18 mounts plus mini-rail interfaces, so it slots into existing kits without proprietary adapters.

Why the APW is the flagship: gating, white phosphor and FOM 1600-2000

Three specifications stack up here. Auto-gating pulses the photocathode to control exposure, so bright or changing light produces a controlled point rather than a bloom essential anywhere artificial light is present. White phosphor (P₄₅) renders the scene in natural greyscale that is easier to interpret and less tiring over long sessions. And the Advanced Performance Photonis tubes sit in the FOM 1600-2000 band with 64-72 lp/mm resolution, the highest-grade Gen 2+ tubes AGM fits to the NVG-50.

Because depth perception relies on both eyes receiving a clean, matched image, putting the best available tubes in a binocular pays off twice over. Above this sits AGM’s 3A line with Gen 3+ auto-gated tubes for those who need maximum performance; the APW is the top of the Gen 2+ range at a meaningfully lower price.

Real-world applications

Demanding mixed-light work: the combination of depth, gating, and a high-FOM white image suits security, search-and-rescue, and professional night operations across rural and peri-urban environments.

Mounted movement and driving: stereoscopic depth and dynamic light control make fast movement and driving on private land as safe as Gen 2+ allows.

Serious hunting and land management: helmet-mounted, hands-free, with a clean greyscale image for identifying terrain and game; switch to monocular mode to extend runtime.

How it compares

Against the green AP, the APW swaps to white phosphor at the same auto-gated Advanced Performance grade a preference choice. Against the non-gated NW1, it adds auto-gating and a higher FOM band for dynamic light. Against AGM’s 3A (Gen 3+ auto-gated) NVG-50 builds, the APW is the top Gen 2+ option at a lower price; the step to Gen 3+ buys further low-light reach and tube longevity for those who need it.

FAQ

  • Why is the NVG-50 APW the most expensive Gen 2+ goggle in the line? It combines all three premium features  dual-tube depth perception, auto-gating, and Advanced Performance Photonis white-phosphor tubes at FOM 1600-2000 with 64-72 lp/mm the highest Gen 2+ grade AGM fits to the NVG-50.
  • Is the APW worth it over the AP? They are the same auto-gated advanced performance grade; the APW is white phosphor (more natural greyscale, lower fatigue), and the AP is green. Choose by preference.
  • Does it handle bright artificial light? Yes. Auto-gating controls exposure under streetlights, headlights, and other dynamic light so the image does not bloom out.
  • Should I consider the Gen 3+ (3A) version instead? If you need maximum low-light reach and tube longevity and the budget allows, AGM’s 3A Gen 3+ builds go further; the APW is the top Gen 2+ option at a lower price.
