Pulsar Thermion 2 LRF XG60 comprehensive review
The Pulsar Thermion 2 LRF XG60 combines a 640×480 sensor with a fine 12-micron pixel pitch. The smaller pixel means each pixel covers less of the scene through the long F60/1.1 lens, so you get tighter detail on distant targets than the 17 micron XP60. That, plus the highest magnification in the range at 4-32x, makes it a long-range specialist.
Detection reaches 2,800 m, level with the HD XL60. The field of view is narrow at 7.3 degrees, which is the trade for that reach, so this is a scope for open country rather than close woodland. On a fox at 250 m across stubble, the XG60 shows a crisp, identifiable heat signature.
The 800 m rangefinder, ballistic calculator, 50 Hz display, and 11-hour battery round it out. Pick the XG60 when your shots are long and your targets are small.

Real-world hunting scenarios and use cases
For a foxer working large open fields, small targets at long range are the daily challenge. The XG60’s 12-micron sensor and 4-32x zoom resolve a fox at distances where a wider, lower-zoom scope only shows a dot. Choose the XG60 for small, fast targets at long range on clear nights, where its 12-micron detail and high zoom win. Choose the XP60 for the best image in fog and rain, where its higher sensitivity matters more than extra reach.
