AGM Wolf-7 Pro NL1 Night Vision Goggle (Gen 2+ Bi-Ocular, Green)

2.900,00

The AGM Wolf-7 Pro NL1 is a hands-free night vision goggle that can be mounted on a helmet, freeing both your hands while you move, work, or navigate in the dark. A single Gen 2+ green-phosphor tube feeds both eyepieces, giving a relaxed two-eyed view at a far lower cost than a true dual-tube binocular.

  • Bi-ocular layout: one Gen 2+ Level 1 green-phosphor (P43) tube, viewed with both eyes
  • 1x magnification (optional 8x lenses), 27 mm F/1.2 objective, 40-degree field of view, 45-54 lp/mm
  • Built-in IR illuminator, automatic brightness control and highlight-overload protection
  • Runs on 2x AA: up to 40 h (IR off) or 30 h (IR on); external power 2.8-4.2 V supported
  • Waterproof, 510 g, ships with soft headgear and Rhino mount for hands-free use

The AGM Wolf-7 Pro NL1 is a bi-ocular Generation 2+ night vision goggle built for hands-free use. The word that defines it is bi-ocular: a single image intensifier tube projects one amplified image into both eyepieces. You look through it with both eyes more relaxed and less tiring than squinting through a monocular, but because there is only one tube, the view is flat, without the stereoscopic depth a true dual-tube binocular provides. That trade is deliberate: it keeps a comfortable, helmet-mountable goggle at roughly half the price of a twin-tube unit, which is precisely what most hunters, land managers, and recreational users actually need for moving around at night.

Design and build

The Wolf-7 Pro houses a single Gen 2+ tube behind a 27 mm F/1.2 objective, with a 40-degree field of view and focus from 0.25 m to infinity. Eye relief is 15 mm, dioptre adjusts -4 to +5, and interpupillary distance spans 57-73 mm so the eyepieces line up to your face. Controls are deliberately simple, with automatic brightness control and highlight-overload protection guarding the tube against sudden bright light. A built-in short-range IR illuminator covers map-reading and close work in total darkness.

Power comes from two AA cells easy to source anywhere, giving up to 40 hours with the IR off or 30 hours with it on, and an external supply (2.8-4.2 V) can extend that. The waterproof composite body weighs 510 g and measures 183 x 132 x 58 mm. In the box are soft headgear and a Rhino mount, so it goes hands-free immediately; AGM’s 8x afocal lenses convert it to a long-range viewer when needed.

Bi-ocular vs binocular, and the green tube

Understanding bi-ocular versus binocular is the single most important buying decision in night-vision goggles. A biocular (this unit) shares one tube to both eyes: comfortable and affordable, but flat. A binocular, such as the AGM NVG-50, uses two tubes, one per eye, for genuine depth perception that makes walking rough ground, judging distance, and driving far safer. If your night work is mostly static observation or slow movement, a biocular is the sensible spend; if you move fast over uneven terrain, consider the dual-tube route.

The NL1 tube is a Gen 2+ green-phosphor (P43) unit at AGM’s Level 1 grade, their cleanest selection, with practically no spots in the central Zone 1 resolving 45-54 line pairs per millimeter. Green phosphor is the classic look and can give strong perceived contrast in the lowest light.

Real-world applications

Hunting and land management: helmet-mounted, the Wolf-7 Pro keeps both hands on a rifle, gate, or quad while you move between stands or check stock, with the built-in IR for sheds and deep shadow.

Security and property: hands-free patrol of yards, outbuildings, and fence lines, with map reading covered by the IR illuminator.

Recreation and navigation: night hiking, caving, and camping benefit from a relaxed two-eyed image; the 8x lens option turns it into a long-range observation tool for watching wildlife from a fixed position.

How it compares

Against a handheld monocular such as the Wolf-14, the Wolf-7 Pro adds hands-free, two-eyed comfort at the cost of pocketability. Against the dual-tube NVG-50, it is far cheaper and lighter on the wallet but gives a flat image without depth perception. Against the white-phosphor Wolf-7 Pro NW1, this green model saves a little money; the NW1 returns a more natural greyscale image that many users find easier over long sessions.

FAQ

  • Is the Wolf-7 Pro a binocular or a biocular? It is a biocular: one image intensifier tube feeds both eyepieces. You see with both eyes for comfort, but the image is flat, without the depth perception of a true dual-tube binocular like the NVG 50.
  • Can I wear it on a helmet? Yes. It ships with soft headgear and a Rhino mount and is designed for hands-free head or helmet use.
  • How long does it run? The device runs on two AA cells, providing up to 40 hours of use with the IR illuminator off, or about 30 hours with it on; using an external power supply can extend its operation.
  • Green (NL1) or white (NW1) phosphor? NL1 is green and slightly cheaper with strong low-light contrast; NW1 is white phosphor, giving a natural greyscale image many users find clearer and less tiring.
